Matrix solar sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Hyundai Matrix with a diesel engine is experiencing a solar sensor fault, which is affecting the heating system's performance. The issue could potentially be caused by a defective cable or plug. A similar problem in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a corroded connector in the sensor circuit. It is suggested to have the vehicle checked by a professional workshop to diagnose and fix the issue, as it might be a simple connection problem.

Thanks for the reply! I'm no mechanic, but I had a quick look and didn't see anything obvious. Where exactly was the problem with your Corsa?

Mine was a corroded connector on the sensor itself. But honestly, unless you're comfortable with electrical testing, it's probably best to get it checked by a workshop. It ended up being a 95€ fix for me.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I think I'll take your advice and book it in at a workshop. Hopefully, it's just a connection issue like yours was!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Corsa's HVAC system. Turned out to be a dodgy connection somewhere in the sensor circuit. Have you checked the sensor's wiring?
