Maverick AC Compressor Failure

Experiencing an issue with my 2005 Ford Maverick diesel. The A/C compressor seems dead. The air conditioning system won't switch on, and there's no cooling. I checked the error memory, and there's a stored error. I'm suspecting undervoltage, but I'm not entirely sure where to begin.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra a few years back. Same symptoms - A/C dead, error code stored. Did you check for any obvious signs of a refrigerant leak or maybe a dodgy belt tensioner? Those were the first things I looked at.

Thanks for the quick reply. A refrigerant leak and the belt tensioner are definitely on my radar now. When you mentioned the Opel Astra, what did you end up finding was the root cause of the problem? Any particular components I should be focusing on?

Well, on the Astra, it turned out to be a faulty A/C compressor. Considering the symptoms and error code, it might be worth getting it checked by a workshop. Saved me a lot of headache in the long run. They can properly diagnose it and see if it's something simple or if the compressor is kaput.

I appreciate the advice. I took it to a local shop, and you were spot on. The A/C compressor was indeed the culprit. Repair cost me around 240€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
