Maverick Audio System Failure

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2020 Ford Maverick Hybrid. The audio system has completely stopped working. There's absolutely no sound coming from the speakers. I've tried adjusting the volume, checking the connections, and even trying different audio sources like the radio and Bluetooth. Nothing seems to make a difference. Could a defective speaker really cause the entire system to shut down like this?

That's a strange problem. Just to clarify, you've confirmed that the system is powered on, the screen is working, and you can navigate through the menus, but there's simply no audio output whatsoever, regardless of the source? Does the Bluetooth connect to your phone, but just no sound plays? It does sound like it could be a speaker or amplifier issue. The speakers aren't something that I would have guessed, though.

Yes, that's exactly right. The screen works perfectly, and I can navigate all the menus as normal. Bluetooth connects to my phone, and it looks like the music is playing on my phone and the car display, but still, no sound comes out of the speakers. If it is a speaker or amplifier issue, is there anything I can check myself before taking it to a workshop? Like, maybe a fuse?

Okay, given that the display and Bluetooth are working, but there's no audio, it does sound like a hardware problem, potentially a blown fuse or a defective speaker as you mentioned. There should be a fuse box diagram in your owner's manual, check the fuse for the audio system and the amplifier. But honestly, given the complexity of modern car audio systems, it's probably best to take it to a workshop for diagnosis. They'll have the tools and expertise to pinpoint the exact cause. It sounds like the bass speaker might be the cause, but I would recommend getting it checked.

Thank you so much for your help! I checked the fuses, and they seemed fine, so I took your advice and brought it to a local mechanic. Turns out the bass speaker was indeed defective and causing the whole system to fail. Repair cost was 280€. They replaced it, and now everything is working perfectly again. I really appreciate you confirming my suspicions and encouraging me to seek professional help. It saved me a lot of time and frustration!
