Maverick Gear Selection Error

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't actually checked the switch myself yet because I wasn’t sure where to even begin. When you say 'check the switch and connections,' what exactly am I looking for? Should I be trying to test it with some equipment, or is it more of a visual inspection kind of thing?

While a visual inspection for damaged or loose connections is a good first step, given your description and lack of experience, I would advise taking your Ford Maverick to a qualified workshop. Based on the error stored in the memory, they should be able to quickly diagnose the problem, which seems to point to a defective cable or plug connection. From there, the estimated repair costs shouldn't be more than 95€.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a local shop like you suggested. Turns out it really WAS the clutch pedal switch – a loose connection just like you suspected. They fixed it up, and everything's working perfectly again. Cost me exactly 95€. Appreciate the help!

It sounds like you may indeed have a faulty clutch pedal switch. The symptoms you describe – error codes, non-functional gear selection display, cruise control issues, and starting problems – are consistent with a malfunctioning switch. This switch is a safety feature, and if it fails, it can cause these types of problems. Have you checked the switch itself and the connections to see if anything is loose or damaged?
