Maverick Hybrid Generator Issue

Hey, I'm having trouble with my 2021 Ford Maverick Hybrid. It's got 36566 km on it, and the generator seems to be failing. I've got reduced engine power, a warning light on the speedometer, and it's getting harder to start. Plus, the lights are weak and flickering, and the error memory is full. Anyone else seen this? I checked the battery connections, but I think the generator is defective.

That sounds frustrating! I had something similar with my old Opel Corsa. Same symptoms – power loss, warning lights, the works. Have you checked the voltage drop across the battery terminals when the engine is running? That might tell you if it's the charging system.

I can't remember the exact voltage, but anything below 14V when running meant trouble. And yeah, my Corsa threw a code for the charging system. I took it to a shop, and it was a faulty generator.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. It's good to know I'm on the right track. I'll book an appointment with a mechanic to replace the generator. The repair will cost around 960€, which hurts, but at least I know what's wrong.
