Maverick Parking Aid Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Ford Maverick diesel with 181,201 km has a non-functional parking aid system, with diagnostics indicating a fault. The issue might be due to damaged or loose connections in the ultrasonic sensors located in the bumper. A visual inspection is recommended to identify any obvious problems, but if the issue persists, consulting a professional technician is advised, as it could be an internal fault or wiring issue.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll check the ultrasonic sensors for damage and loose connections. Are those the obstacle detection devices in the bumper? It appeared spontaneously, no specific event triggered it.

Yep, the parking sensors in the bumper. Since it appeared suddenly, it's likely an internal fault or wiring. If you're not comfortable tracing the wiring, a workshop is best. Mine cost 95€ to fix a faulty connection.

Thanks for the insight. I'll take it to a qualified technician. Your experience and cost estimate are helpful. I'll post the solution here for others who might have the same issue.

I had a similar problem with my Maverick's parking assist, same error message. Have you checked the ultrasonic sensors for damage or loose connections? A visual inspection might find the problem.
