Maverick weak battery

I'm having a weird issue with my 2023 Ford Maverick with a gasoline engine. At around 198369 km, the battery is heavily discharged. I'm seeing an error message on the speedometer, weak lights, and an error code. The engine struggles to start. I've checked the usual things, but it's still happening. Could a bad battery sensor be the problem? Anyone else seen this?

I have a Ford Maverick too. Your issue sounds like what I had last year. Similar symptoms, the error message was driving me nuts! I thought it was a parasitic drain or a bad alternator. Did you check the voltage regulator?

I did a quick check on the voltage regulator, and it seemed okay. But I'm not sure I tested it right. Can you explain how you checked the voltage regulator and if it could still be the problem even with a normal reading?

I wouldn't worry about the voltage regulator if it seems okay. Mine turned out to be the battery sensor. A friend who works at a shop said it's common. I'd take it to a trusted shop; they'll find the problem fast.

Thanks! I'll schedule an appointment with a good shop based on that. It's good to know a bad battery sensor could be it. I will report back when I know more. The repair cost me 315€, but the problem is fixed!
