Thanks, that's a good point. When you say 'battery cable connections,' do you mean just visually inspect them or should I actually disconnect them and clean them up? And what should I be looking for specifically? Corrosion?

Definitely disconnect them, clean them thoroughly with a wire brush, and ensure they are tightly reconnected. Look for any signs of corrosion, like white or bluish deposits. Think of it like scrubbing the pipes in your house; if they're clogged, nothing flows properly. If cleaning the connections doesn't help, then it's time to get the engine diagnostics checked at a reputable workshop.

You were spot on! I cleaned the battery cable connections, and it fired right up. Took it to the workshop anyway, and they confirmed the connection was bad and re-tightened it properly - 155€. Thanks for the advice; you saved me a ton of stress and probably a bigger repair bill.

I had a similar problem last year with my Maxima. While it could be a complicated issue like the ECU, I'd start with the basics. Check your battery cable connections. If they're loose or corroded, that can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins. Like trying to run your house on wires that are barely connected – things just won't work right.
