Maxima height control restricted warning

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2017 Nissan Maxima with a gasoline engine. The vehicle is showing a 'height control restricted' warning light. I've noticed the low beams seem off, the ride is bumpier than usual, and the vehicle appears uneven. The error memory also has a stored error related to this. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Sounds familiar. I had something like that on my Maxima. Is it leaning to one side, or just generally sitting weird? Check your leveling sensors, especially the control rods. They're pretty flimsy.

Thanks for the tip! How would I go about checking the leveling sensors and control rods? Are they easy to access, and is there anything specific I should look for besides obvious damage?

They're usually connected to the suspension. Look for anything bent, broken, or disconnected. Honestly, unless you're comfortable working on suspension, it might be best to get a workshop to take a look. Could be something simple, but messing with the leveling system can affect your ride height and handling.

Took your advice and went to a workshop. Turns out it was a defective control rod on the sensor, just as suspected. Repair cost was 110€ all in. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
