Mileage is 207810 km. I'm not sure of the fan's age, it's original as far as I know. Does that sound familiar to your experience?

Yes, that is quite similar to the circumstances I encountered. At that mileage, failure of cooling system components is within expectations. Considering your described symptoms, a visit to a trusted workshop should be made.
