Hey guys, thanks for sharing your experiences here. It really pays to have a community that can relate with car issues like this. So, I noticed MarliWag91, you mentioned the steering column switch cable connection was the cause of the problem with your Mazda. I'm wondering, can you remember how much the repair cost you at the garage? And has anything else popped up since the repair? Just trying to brace myself for the potential cost and other potential issues that might arise. Cheers!

Hey, not a problem, glad to share. About the cost, yeah, the garage billed me 155.00 € for the whole operation - that was for the repair of the faulty Steering column switch cable connection. Bit chunky, I know, but considering the alternative was having a car playing disco with my indicators, it was worth it. And good news - ever since they fixed it, all's been fine and dandy. Especially the Windshield wiper switch - it's been perfect. No more weird behavior or glitches. So it seems like they've done a good job. Just keep in mind that car stuff can be a bit unpredictable, but on the bright side, this repair knocked two birds with one stone. Give it a think and let us know how you go! Cheers!

Hey guys, thanks heaps for the responses, really appreciate it. MarliWag91, thanks for sharing about the steering column switch cable connection problem and the whole garage experience. It was helpful to get some perspective especially due to the possibility that my issue might be quite similar. And MarliWag91, consider me well prepared. 155.00 € sounds quite reasonable to me, especially considering the headache I would save myself from trying to perform a DIY fix. I'd rather have my Mazda sitting pretty than stuttering like a problemactic hippo on the roads. Thanks again for the advice! I guess I better start looking for a reliable mechanic nearby and set up an appointment. I'll keep you guys posted on how things go. Cheers!

Hey! I totally get where you're coming from. I've got a 2013 Mazda 3 and experienced a similar issue just a few months ago. The indicators started giving me trouble, and so did the headlights. Turned out it was the Steering column switch cable connection acting bananas, not the bulbs or fuses like I initially thought. Honestly, it's a bit of a hassle to fix this on your own unless you're pretty handy and got the tools for it, because you'll need to dismantle the steering column and reconnect the switch cable. Last time at the garage, the guys had to take apart the steering column and properly connect the switch cable back - not exactly a 10-minute job, you know? Although I can't tell exactly if that's your case, the symptoms sound pretty similar. So, it might be the same issue that's causing your wipers and headlight cleaner to play up too. Don't wanna scare you, but it's a relatively serious issue - like, it's not gonna blow your car up, but you won't enjoy any rides if these things don't work right. Safe bet would be to book another appointment and let the pros handle it. Sure, it doesn't guarantee a smooth experience, but at least they should know what they're doing. Good luck with it!
