Hey there, thanks for the advice! It does sound like what's happening with my Axela. I'm glad to hear it might just be a simple refill job and not anything more serious. I'm curious, though, if you don't mind sharing, do you recall how much it set you back to get that A/C system recharged? And was there any other issues that popped up afterwards that were related to it? I just want to brace my wallet for whatever might be coming, you know? Cheers!
Hey! So about the costs—get this—I actually didn't have to pay a single cent for the A/C recharge! It's a mad story. Thankfully, my mechanic owed me one from the past. So, it was totally free, 0.00 €. As for your other query about other potential issues... Well, initially I had these doubts too, but so far, it's been smooth sailing. I mean, there was indeed an issue with the refrigerant compressor. It was defective as you suspected about yours. However, it was taken care of promptly. Now, every time I'm in the car, the A/C is running like a champ! It's as frigid as an Eskimo's igloo in there when I want it to be. I reckon with a good mechanic, your Mazda's gonna sort itself out nicely. No worries at all!
Thanks for the detailed info! You're a life saver! Can't believe you had it sorted out for free, talk about lucky. It's a relief to know that it didn't cause further issues for you. Gives me hope that I'm just overthinking it and my Mazda will be just fine too. And oh, a car as chilly as an Eskimo’s igloo sounds perfect for the summer heat! Will go find myself a reliable mechanic and get it checked this weekend. Appreciate your advice. Cheers!
Hey, sounds quite like the issue I had with my 2014 Mazda Atenza a while back. It was indeed the refrigerant - turned out it was empty, and that's what caused the A/C to blow warm air instead of cold. My mechanic spotted the issue pretty quickly during a routine service. He explained that this kind of thing can occur from regular use and wear and tear - nothing unusual given the mileage on my car. He had to recharge the A/C system, which included emptying it completely, checking for any leaks, and then refilling it with the correct type and amount of refrigerant. The job was performed meticulously, given that any dirt or moisture could potentially damage the A/C system. In my case it wasn't too serious, more of routine maintenance than a critical problem. The mechanic did impress upon me that leaving it unchecked can cause more significant issues down the line, so it's a good idea to address it sooner rather than later. I'd recommend going to a trusted mechanic for a thorough check - it could well be as simple as refilling your A/C too! Best of luck with your Axela.
