Hey there your story does take the edge off a bit - cheers for that. It seems like we're in the same boat with our Mazda woes. That fuel flap wiring harness issue sounds like a proper chore to fix, though. Can't really recall, do you remember how much you got dinged at the mechanic for it? And everything's been kosher since, right? No sneaky issues slithered out of the woodwork after the fix up, did they?
Hey, glad to hear my past predicament gave you some peace of mind! Yep, fixing the wiring harness was indeed a bit of a puzzle for the mechanic, it was not a cheap deal either. Cost me about 155.00 € to get that all squared away. But you know what? No sweat about that cost now since it's been smooth sailing since the fix. That blinking check engine light is now a thing of the past and all readings are back to normal. Haven't stumbled upon any sneaky surprises or hidden glitches since the mechanic addressed the fuel filler flap position sensor faulty. It seems like the money was well spent, no recurring nightmares or anything. So breathe easy the CX9 should be back to its old self in no time!
Thank you for the detailed response! That was certainly relieving to hear that it hasn't been a recurring issue for you. I had a nagging worry about potential underlying problems, so your assurance has been a great comfort. 155.00 € is a tad steep, but hearing about your positive outcome, I reckon it’s well worth the peace of mind. Seems like I need to take my CX9 to the mechanic then, get that pesky check engine light sorted out once and for all. Thanks for sharing your experience, really appreciate it! Cheers!
Hey, my 2009 Mazda 3 had a similar issue not so long ago. The engine warning light popped up and the speedometer started acting funny. The problem turned out to be a faulty fuel filler flap wiring harness. Wasn't exactly a walk in the park, I can tell you. Basically, the wiring harness that connects to the fuel filler flap position sensor needed replacing. The mechanic had to take apart the rear quarter panel to reach it, which was quite a job. But once it was replaced, things smoothened out. The nice part was, it didn't seem to be a recurring problem or serious issue once fixed. Hope that helps ease your anxiety a bit. Good luck with your CX9!
