Mazda Tribute 2005 Dealing with Uneven Sitting and Unusual Bouncing - Seeking Advice and Mechanic Recommendations

Hey! I'm a bit concerned about my 2005 Mazda Tribute, gas engine, with around 48,064KM on the ticker. She's sitting uneven and bouncing a bit more than usual when I'm on the road. Thought this might be due to an incorrect door contact signal but honestly, I'm not sure. Last time I checked with a local mechanic, it didn't go well. Anyone out there experienced anything similar? Would love to hear how you tackled the problem and any mechanic recommendations. Appreciate any help!

Hey there! I totally get where you're coming from. I had a similar issue with my 2008 Mazda CX-7 a while back. The ride was bumpy and erratic - seemed like an off-road adventure rather than a calm city drive which was weird indeed. I first thought it was probably worn-out suspension system or something but turned out it was a Cable/plug connection problem. Make sure first that it's not tires or suspension related issue. You might have overlooked that, sometimes we go far thinking mechanistic when it's just those good old tires messing up with us. But, the way you describe it, it does sound like an issue I faced. When I took it to my regular garage, the mechanic found out that my Cable/plug connection was defective. Not a regular thing but happens and has quirky ways to show up. Trust me, fixing it might not be as easy as changing your car's oil, but once done, you will notice a significant improvement in your car's performance and stability. My car is pretty smooth sailing since the fix. It sure was a kind of relief that it wasn't some major mechanical fault needing a complete engine overhaul or something. Hope this helps you! Best of luck getting that sorted.

Wow, cheers for the insight! Reckon it could be a Cable/plug connection problem with the way my Tribute's been bouncing around. I'll definitely make sure it's not tire or suspension related too. Out of curiosity, do you still remember roughly how much it set you back getting that cable and plug issue sorted out? Also, has anything else popped up with your Mazda since you fixed that? Appreciate all the guidance!

Hey there! Yes, I remember the charges. The bill to mend that pesky Cable/plug connection hitch came out to be about 155.00 €. Certainly wasn't cheap, but it was well worth it considering the comfort I got back while driving. About your second query, since I had that sorted out, my Mazda's been running as smooth as a charm, without a problem. Remember the Incorrect door contact signal issue I mentioned? Well, it was fixed right along with the Cable/plug connection thing. So no more unwanted surprises for now. Glad to be of assistance! Hope your Tribute gets back to its glory days soon! Let me know if you have any more questions.

That's brilliant! Thanks a ton. It's costly but, if it helps with the overall performance, it sounds like a good deal to me! Now I have a rough idea on what might be wrong with my Tribute and what cost I should expect. Great to hear your Mazda has been hitch free since resolving that Cable/plug issue. Keeps my fingers crossed about that whole Incorrect door contact signal getting sorted as well. Really appreciate your help in figuring this out. Now to tackle the issue with an informed game plan! Thanks again. Your guidance has been super.
