Megane ABS Light and Steering Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Renault Megane is experiencing a low tire pressure warning, ABS light, steering wheel vibration, and heavy steering. The initial suspicion is a defective TPMS valve, but other potential causes are considered. A similar case suggested that a faulty tire sensor might be the issue, and professional inspection is recommended to accurately diagnose and resolve the problem.

When you had this, did the ABS light come on and did you feel steering vibrations? Did you also think it was a tire sensor, or did you check other things first?

Yeah, the ABS light was on too! The vibration wasn't too bad, but noticeable. I didn't dig too deep. I just took it to a workshop, and they said it was a faulty tire sensor. Best to get it checked professionally. Could save you a headache.

Based on your experience, I'll get a mechanic to check it out. I'll post the repair outcome and costs (estimated 280€) here in case it helps others.

Hey, I had something similar with my Megane! Low tire warning light and super heavy steering, like the power steering was cutting out. Check your tire sensors, man. Could be a bad battery or something. Have you checked if the tire is actually low?
