Megane Blower Motor Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Renault Megane diesel has a non-functioning fresh air blower motor, with an error stored. Initial checks of fuses showed no issues, leading to suspicions about the blower motor, HVAC system, or related components like the fan speed controller or climate control unit. A suggestion was made to check the resistor pack, often a common cause for blower failure. Ultimately, the blower motor was confirmed defective and replaced, resolving the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion! Where exactly is the resistor pack located? Is it easy to get to, or does the whole dashboard need to come apart? Is there a way to test it before replacing it?

On mine, it was near the blower motor, accessible from the passenger footwell. Honestly, I didn't test it; just took it to the workshop. They confirmed it was the resistor and then found out the blower motor was bad, too.

Thanks a lot! I took it to the shop, and you were right – the blower motor was indeed defective. Cost me 365€ to get it fixed, but at least I have fresh air again!

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Megane. Blower just quit. Before tearing things apart, have you checked the resistor pack? It's often the culprit when the fan stops working entirely.
