Overheating no, but where exactly should I be looking on the cooling fan and radiator cap? Is there anything specific that fails?

I couldn't see the leak myself. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. In my case, they found a loose connection, fixed it, and the whole thing cost about 95€.

Thanks! I'll check the connections and then take it to the workshop. It was indeed the cable! They charged me 95€ and now it is running fine.

I had a similar coolant issue with my Megane. Check the cooling fan and radiator cap first. Also, make sure there aren't any air pockets in the system. Have you noticed any engine overheating?
