Megane diesel mass air flow meter issues

I am experiencing difficulties with my 2020 Renault Megane diesel. At 184582 km, it is exhibiting symptoms indicative of a defective mass air flow meter (LMM). The issues manifest as increased fuel consumption, engine stalls at idle, illumination of the check engine light, and visible smoke during acceleration. Could this be attributed to a faulty mass air flow sensor?

Sounds familiar. I had very similar symptoms with my old Opel Astra. Was also a diesel. Have you checked the air intake for any obstructions?

The air intake appears unobstructed upon visual inspection. Could you elaborate on your experience with the Astra? Did replacing the mass air flow meter resolve the issues you encountered?

Replacing the MAF sensor did fix the Astra. But given all the symptoms you're describing, might be worth getting it checked by a workshop. Could be other sensor issues too.

Appreciate the insight. Following diagnostic confirmation at a reputable workshop, the mass air flow meter was indeed identified as the source of the problem. Replacement, with a total cost of 365€, has rectified the issues.
