Megane Electric Seat Heater Failure

The error code doesn't specify which seat. It just says 'seat heating element defective'. A thermal sensor makes sense, since that's what regulates the temperature. Where is that sensor located?

Ah, 'heating element defective' is a bit more specific than what I had. In my case, the sensor was throwing the code, and it's usually embedded within the heating mat itself. Given your error, it does sound like the heating mat itself might be the problem. Beyond checking the wiring harness under the seat, you're probably best off letting a workshop diagnose it properly. These things can be tricky to get to.

Thanks for the info! I suspected it might be the mat itself. Took it to the shop, and they confirmed it: defective seat heating mat. Repair cost is 390€ Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Megane. Does the error code specify which seat (driver or passenger) or give more details about the problem? It could be a faulty thermal sensor – that's what went wrong with mine.
