Megane electronic parking brake failure
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Renault Megane is experiencing an electronic parking brake failure, with the brake not engaging and an error message displayed. Diagnostics suggest a defective electric motor in the brake caliper as the cause, with a repair cost of 505€. A similar issue was noted by another owner, who recommended checking the brake switch, as a faulty switch can disrupt the system. A workshop visit is advised for accurate diagnosis and resolution.

Could you elaborate on the specifics of the switch malfunction? Was the diagnostic process straightforward, or did it require specialized equipment to pinpoint the fault?

It was a while ago, but if I remember correctly, the diagnostics pointed directly at the motor in the caliper. I'd advise taking it to a workshop, they can probably diagnose the issue pretty quickly.

I had a similar problem with my Megane. The electronic brake system threw a fit. Did you check the brake switch? Sometimes a faulty switch can cause havoc with the entire system.
