Megane electronic parking brake failure

My 2023 Renault Megane, gasoline engine, has an electronic parking brake failure at 176821 kilometers. It won't engage, shows an error message, and the warning light is on. Diagnostics suggest a defective electric motor in the brake caliper, costing 505€. Has anyone else had this?

I had a similar problem with my Megane. The electronic brake system threw a fit. Did you check the brake switch? Sometimes a faulty switch can cause havoc with the entire system.

Could you elaborate on the specifics of the switch malfunction? Was the diagnostic process straightforward, or did it require specialized equipment to pinpoint the fault?

It was a while ago, but if I remember correctly, the diagnostics pointed directly at the motor in the caliper. I'd advise taking it to a workshop, they can probably diagnose the issue pretty quickly.

I appreciate your insights. It appears a workshop visit is indeed unavoidable. I shall proceed accordingly and report back on the resolution for the benefit of the community.
