Megane fuel flap issue

My 2004 Renault Megane diesel has an issue with the fuel flap release. The error memory shows a fault, and the flap won't lock or unlock anymore. This also seems to be affecting other vehicle functions. I suspect a defective linkage, has anyone seen this?

I had something similar happen with my Megane. Couldn't open the fuel door, and it was a real pain. Does the central locking still work? Because mine was acting up at the same time. I tried WD-40, but that didn't do anything.

Yeah, central locking is acting strange, although not totally dead. Did you ever figure out exactly what it was, or did you just throw parts at it? Any idea about the electric actuator?

Sounds like the same gremlin! I did some poking around, but honestly, electrics aren't my strong suit. Took it to a workshop, they sorted it out, but didn't give me a super detailed explanation. Said something about a faulty actuator though, so you might be on the right track. Cost me around 200€

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll check the actuator, but probably end up taking it in as well. Seems like it's more involved than I initially thought. I'll post the resolution.
