The heater in a 2020 Renault Megane was blowing lukewarm air, and a diagnostic code indicated an issue with the water valve. The problem was suspected to be a valve blockage or a faulty connection. After checking the connections, the valve was identified as defective and replaced, resolving the heating issue. The repair was relatively minor and cost around 95€.

Good shout on the cable and plug, I'll definitely give them a wiggle and a check for corrosion. But if it IS the valve itself, is that a big job? I'm assuming it controls the flow to the heater core, so could it be a simple car valve replacement, or am I looking at a whole day of dismantling?

If you have already checked the connection, and the error is still present, then the valve is defective and must be replaced. This is a relatively minor repair, with costs expected around 95€. However, it is essential to have the functionality of the component checked again after installation.

Thanks a bunch for the advice! Turns out the valve WAS the culprit. After checking the connections and they seemed alright, I decided to bite the bullet and get it swapped out. Heating's back to normal now! It cost me around 95€ at the workshop, just like you predicted. Cheers again!

It's certainly possible the valve is faulty. Have you checked the cable and plug connection to the component itself? A defective connection there can cause similar symptoms and throw that error code. Is the error message consistent, or does it disappear and reappear?
