Megane IAT Sensor Issue

Hey, I'm having some issues with my 2005 Renault Megane gasoline. The check engine light popped on, and I've noticed a definite drop in engine power. My diagnostic tool is throwing an error related to the intake air temperature sensor. The engine is also running a bit rough. I'm suspecting the IAT sensor is faulty. Anyone else experienced this?

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my Megane. Was the temperature reading off on your diagnostic tool? I’d double-check the wiring to the sensor too, just in case it's a loose connection before you assume the sensor is bad. But yeah, sounds like the IAT sensor.

Thanks for the quick reply! The temperature reading seemed way off, like -40 when it was clearly a warm day. I'll check the wiring, but if it's not that, do you think it's definitely the sensor? Did replacing it fix the problem for you?

Yep, those crazy temperature readings are a dead giveaway. I tried cleaning the contacts first, but no luck. I ended up taking it to a workshop, they confirmed it was the sensor. Replacement sorted it right out. So yeah, I'd say it's very likely the sensor.

Awesome, thanks for confirming! I appreciate the help. I'll get it sorted at the shop. Looks like it will cost me around 155€ including the sensor and labor. Cheers!
