Megane Intermittent Starting Problems

I'm having issues with my 2011 Renault Megane (gasoline engine). At 107094 km, it sometimes won't start, cuts out while driving, and idles rough. I checked the ignition fuses, but they're fine. Anyone seen this?

Hey! I had similar issues with my Megane! Does it happen more when it's humid, or doesn't it matter? For me, the ignition switch was the culprit. Have you considered that? The symptoms you describe fit.

Thanks! Did you have engine shut-offs or rough idling, or just ignition problems? How did you diagnose the switch?

Yep, engine cutting out was the main thing, plus struggling to start sometimes and rough running just before it died completely. I didn't diagnose it myself; I took it to a workshop when the cutting out started happening regularly. They checked a bunch of stuff, but the switch was the problem. Best get it checked out by a professional!

I appreciate your insight. The symptoms do align closely. I took the Megane to a local workshop, and they confirmed the ignition switch was faulty. The repair, including parts and labor, was 52€. The car is now running smoothly again. Thanks again!
