Megane oil pressure warning

I also have a Megane, though I haven't hit that many kilometers. I had a similar issue with the oil light coming on. What color is the oil? Was it sludgy, like old paint?

The oil color is quite dark, almost black. I haven't checked the consistency closely, but I suspect it might be thicker than usual. What was the eventual cause in your case?

Mine was the same - dark and thick. I took it to a workshop, and they said it was likely due to exceeding the oil change interval, leading to sludge buildup. They recommended a thorough engine flush and an oil and filter change. You should get it checked before it causes serious damage.

Thank you for the advice. I took the Megane to a workshop, and it was indeed due to the extended maintenance interval. An oil and filter change, along with some additives, resolved the issue. The repair cost was 165€.
