Megane Power Windows Dead After Battery Change
Summary of the thread
After changing the battery in a 2021 Renault Megane, the power windows stopped functioning, displaying a window regulator initialization error. This issue may be due to the car's system needing a reset or reinitialization after the battery swap. A suggested solution is to perform a window reset procedure, which may require professional diagnostic tools, leading to a recommendation to visit a workshop for reinitialization.

Window reset procedure? Is that like some secret handshake the car needs to learn? Seriously, where do I find this 'procedure'? And is it, like, a 'guaranteed-to-work-or-your-money-back' kinda thing?

Well, there are multiple reset procedures, and without any diagnostic tool, you probably won't be able to perform one. Then going to a workshop is the best advice I can provide here.

Okay, I took it to the shop after your advice. They had to reinitialize the window regulators with their fancy computer. Cost me 290€, but at least the windows work again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Megane (don't remember the exact year). Did you try the window reset procedure?
