Megane turn signal malfunction

Thanks for the quick reply! By 'faulty,' I mean it's mostly not illuminating at all, but sometimes it flickers briefly. I don't know the exact error code, unfortunately. And no, the lens isn't broken. Could it be the flasher relay, or is that only for older cars?

The symptoms you describe point to a likely defective cable or plug connection for the signal lamp component. Modern vehicles rely heavily on electronic control units (ECUs), and a faulty connection can trigger error codes and disable the lamp despite the bulb being functional. The flasher relay is less likely in newer cars; usually, the ECU controls the turn signals directly. However, without knowing the exact error code, it is difficult to diagnose the problem. You should visit a workshop.

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! I suspected it might be an electrical fault, but your comment about the cable/plug connection is very helpful. I'll take it to the workshop. They found a defective plug connection. The repair cost me 95€. Thanks again for your help!

Electrical gremlins are never fun. When you say 'faulty lighting,' can you describe the behavior? Is it not illuminating at all, flickering, or something else? Do you know if the error memory stores a specific code? Also, have you considered a broken lens, which can sometimes cause strange reflections and sensor issues?
