Menlo transmission problems
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Chevrolet Menlo EV is experiencing transmission problems, including non-functional paddle shifters, slipping, rough shifting, and grinding noises, suggesting it might be in emergency mode. The issue is suspected to be related to the transmission control unit (TCU), especially since error codes are logged. A professional diagnosis confirmed the TCU is faulty, and replacement is necessary.

Good questions! Yes, symptoms are consistent regardless of drive mode (eco, normal, sport). Makes no difference whether the car is cold or warmed up. Any idea what the repair might involve?

Given the consistency across drive modes and temperature, and with error codes present, a defective TCU is highly probable. Given it's an electronic issue, it will likely need replacing. Best to get a professional diagnosis.

Thanks, that confirms my suspicions. I took it to a workshop and they confirmed it's the TCU. Replacement cost is around 1000€. Thanks for the help!

Sounds like a faulty TCU. Are the symptoms consistent? Does it happen in all drive modes? Any difference when the car is cold versus warmed up?
