Mercedes A Klasse ABS and Traction Control Issue

My Mercedes A Klasse 2018 diesel has a speed signal fault. The ABS lamp is illuminated, traction control is erratic, and ABS is inoperative. I suspect a defective control unit. Has anyone seen this? I've checked the input from the wheel speed sensors to the ECM, which seems ok. I suspect the signal isn't getting to the transmission. Thoughts?

Whoa, sounds like a headache! I had something similar happen with my A Klasse (I don't remember the year exactly). The ABS light was going crazy, and traction control was throwing a fit. It's like your car's brain is short-circuiting! Was the speedometer acting up too?

The speedometer seems fine. That's why I'm leaning away from a faulty sensor, and more towards the signal not being processed correctly. Did yours behave the same?

Yeah, the speedometer was normal for me too. Honestly, after chasing wires and swapping sensors, I gave up and took it to a decent workshop. It turned out to be a dodgy ABS control module. They had to replace it and reprogram the thing. It cost me a small fortune!

I appreciate the input. It sounds like I'm on the right track. I'll get it booked in. I confirmed the control unit was faulty, a new one was fitted, and it's all sorted. Thanks again.
