So, you're saying a bad connection on the air quality sensor can actually kill the whole blower? I thought it would just mess with the auto recirculation Is it really that sensitive? Where exactly should I be looking for this plug? I'm not the most mechanically inclined

Yes, it can definitely kill the blower The system is designed to protect you from breathing in polluted air, so if the HVAC sensor sends a faulty signal, it defaults to shutting things down As for location, without knowing your specific model variant, I can only give you a general area But if your mechanic is sure about the cable issue, I'd honestly let him take care of it 95€ is a reasonable price You could try to find the plug, but you might do more damage, and you will not be able to diagnose the issue correctly

Okay, that makes sense I appreciate the insight! I'll just let the mechanic handle it then It sounds like he's on the right track, and it's a relief to know it's likely just a simple connection issue with the air conditioning sensor and not something major Thanks again for the help!

I had a similar issue with my Mercedes A Klasse The symptoms sound very familiar The air conditioning sensor plays a bigger role than most people think If the sensor isn't reading the air quality correctly, it can shut down the blower motor to prevent recirculating contaminated air Have you checked the connection to the cabin air sensor yourself? It's located near the fresh air intake, usually under the hood near the windshield Think of it like a fuse box; sometimes, it's just a matter of reseating the connection
