Mercedes A Klasse Fuel Flap Release Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Mercedes A Klasse owner experienced a fuel flap release problem, with the mechanism being unresponsive and displaying an error message. The issue was suspected to be related to the linkage or an electrical fault. Suggestions included checking the solenoid, fuse box, and central locking system. Ultimately, a workshop diagnosed and fixed the problem by replacing the faulty release mechanism and clearing the error.

No clicking, just silence and the error message. Where is the fuse? And if the central locking wasn't working, wouldn't I have other issues?

No clicking makes the solenoid less likely, but still possible. The fuse box location is usually in the owner's manual. If the central locking is partially working, it could still affect the fuel door release if they share a circuit. If you've checked the fuses and can't see cable damage, let a workshop diagnose the electrical fault. They'll have the tools to test the release mechanism.

A workshop visit fixed it. The release mechanism was faulty. They replaced it, cleared the error, and it works. Thanks for the advice!

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar issue with my A Klasse. Do you hear any clicking when you try to open it? It could be the solenoid. Did you check the fuse box? There's usually a fuse for the fuel filler door. Is the central locking working correctly?
