Thanks for the reply! Yes, the garage mentioned something about the fault code possibly stemming from the chip tuning. I am not the first owner, so I don't have all the details. I can ask the garage for the exact fault code from their vehicle diagnostics. Is it crucial to know the fault code? Is there anything I can check myself before potentially shelling out a fortune?

Knowing the fault code is always beneficial for accurate vehicle diagnostics, as it points directly to the source of the issue. However, if the garage suspects faulty chip tuning, and you're experiencing reduced engine power, it's probably best to take it to a workshop that specializes in car computer issues. They'll be able to diagnose the problem and potentially reverse the tuning or repair any damage caused.

Thanks for your help! I got the fault code from the garage and you were right, it pointed to the chip tuning messing things up. The workshop confirmed the issue and reversed the tuning. Cost me 180€, but at least the engine runs smoothly again!

I own a Mercedes A Klasse as well, and I had a similar engine issue a while back. Did the scan tool give you any specific fault codes? It would be useful to know the exact code to understand better what's going on. Also, are you certain about the chip tuning? Has the car had any modifications?
