I am sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with your A Klasse I had a similar problem with mine which, upon inspection, was indeed related to the ignition system The rough running and engine stalling are classic symptoms Have you checked the spark plugs as well Sometimes a failing spark plug can overload the ignition coil, causing it to malfunction The misfire could also be related to this

Thanks for the quick reply Appreciate the tip about the spark plugs too When you had the same problem, were all cylinders affected or only some of them I'm trying to narrow down if it's a single coil that's gone haywire, or if the problem is located elsewhere And when you say "misfire", do you mean the engine hesitated or cut out momentarily, or something else

In my case, it was only one cylinder affected A misfire, in this context, means that the air-fuel mixture in one or more of your cylinders is not igniting correctly, leading to incomplete combustion This can cause engine hesitation or a momentary cut out, as you described I would strongly advise taking your vehicle to a qualified technician for a proper diagnosis; they will be able to pinpoint the exact cause

Right, the workshop visit confirmed it WAS a defective ignition coil, exactly like I suspected A new one, plus labour, set me back 95€ Runs smooth as silk now Thanks for the sanity check and confirming my suspicions, much appreciated
