Torque sensor Where exactly is that located Is it something I can get to without tearing apart the whole steering column

The torque sensor is integrated within the steering column assembly itself Accessing it requires disassembly and without the proper diagnostic equipment further issues may arise Based on your description a defective cable or plug connection of the component is the likely cause and I would advise a diagnostic check at a workshop It is the best option to mitigate any potential damage

Thanks for the advice Took it to a workshop and you were spot on Turns out it was a loose connection in the steering column They cleaned it up reconnected everything and the power steering is back to normal Cost me 95€ so not too bad I appreciate the help

I am familiar with this issue The electric steering system in these cars is prone to faults Have you checked the torque sensor A faulty torque sensor can manifest in exactly the manner you describe
