Mercedes A Klasse Hybrid Transmission Issues

My 2023 Mercedes A Klasse hybrid has the check engine light and transmission indicator illuminated The automatic gearbox slips, shifts are rough, and I hear grinding noises The scan shows an error related to the automatic transmission torque converter lock-up clutch Could this be a converter failure The potential repair cost is 2120€ Is there any advice

I have a Mercedes A Klasse, though not a hybrid, and I had similar symptoms last year: check engine light, slipping, and rough shifting with my auto transmission It turned out to be a clutch problem within the automatic gearbox I don't know much about hybrids, but if the error code points to the torque converter lock-up clutch, it's probably related

Thanks for the quick response Was your issue also related to the converter failing What was the final diagnosis, and did you have to replace the entire auto transmission or just the clutch

In my case, the workshop confirmed it was a converter failure within the automatic gearbox They recommended replacing the whole unit since it's often more cost-effective than just repairing the lock-up clutch Given your symptoms and the error code pointing to the lock-up clutch, I'd suggest getting a professional diagnosis It sounds very similar

Thanks a lot for the insight I took it to a certified workshop, and they confirmed the converter failure Unfortunately, your experience was spot on; they recommended replacing the entire auto transmission It's a costly repair, but it seems like the only reliable solution Thanks again for sharing your experience, it helped me prepare for the diagnosis
