Mercedes A Klasse Hybrid Turbocharger Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Mercedes A Klasse Hybrid experienced a check engine light, power loss, poor engine response, a whistling noise turning into a loud hissing during acceleration, stalling at idle, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected issue was related to the turbocharger, possibly involving the boost pressure sensor. A similar case suggested the problem might be a defective electrical bypass valve causing a boost pressure actuator fault. After taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that the electrical bypass valve was the issue, and replacing it resolved the problem.

The electrical bypass valve Where exactly is that located And how would I even go about checking it Is there a way to test the pressure sensor

Honestly, I'm no mechanic But yeah, it definitely sounds like the same issue I had Best bet is to take it to a workshop They'll be able to diagnose the boost pressure actuator fault properly In my case, it was the electrical bypass valve that was defective and causing all the turbocharger issues It cost me around 250€ to get it sorted

Thanks for the info I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on It was indeed the electrical bypass valve causing the boost pressure actuator fault New valve fitted, and the car's running like new again Cost me about 250€ as well Cheers

Sounds familiar I had almost the same symptoms with my A Klasse, though I never checked the fuel consumption That whistling noise is a giveaway Have you checked the electrical bypass valve Could be a defective boost control valve causing a boost pressure actuator fault
