Mercedes A Klasse Oil Pressure Issue

I'm seeing an issue with my 2018 Mercedes A Klasse gasoline engine car. At 130992 km, the oil pressure warning lamp is on, and there's a warning light in the speedometer. The engine oil looks contaminated. I think I missed the maintenance. Any known issues?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar scare with my old Opel Corsa. The oil light kept bugging me. I'm no expert, but did you check the oil color? Mine was almost black and sludgy, a sure sign of needing an oil change pronto. Have you considered using any oil additives lately? Sometimes those can mess things up if they're not the right kind. Also, any signs of an oil leak underneath the car?

Thank you for your input. The oil color does appear darker than usual, and I have not used any oil additives recently. I did not observe any evident oil leak when I parked the car. Could you elaborate on your past experiences, specifically focusing on how the oil color and potential oil sludge factored into your situation?

Yeah, sure thing! The dark oil color and the sludge were the main culprits in my case. Turns out, I had completely skipped an oil change, which is embarrassing to admit. The old oil broke down and wasn't doing its job, causing all sorts of problems. If your oil is dark and you're seeing that warning light, I'd seriously consider getting an oil change ASAP. If the light stays on after that, then it's time to visit a workshop.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. Based on your advice and further inspection, it seems that I did indeed exceed the maintenance interval. An oil change was performed, and the warning light has since disappeared. The repair cost was 165€ Thank you for your assistance.
