The check engine light is on. When you mention misfire, is that something I would definitely notice, would the engine shake a lot or something? How much would a replacement cost?

A noticeable misfire can feel like the engine is running on fewer cylinders rough idling and shaking are common. However, a minor misfire might be subtle. The check engine light indicates a fault code is stored. Get the code read. If it points to an injector issue, cleaning or replacement is the likely path. Injector replacement will be necessary if it is defective. A replacement should also solve your emissions problem. Expect around 515€ including labor. A workshop will confirm.

I took it to the workshop, and it turned out to be a defective fuel injector, just as you suspected. I had it replaced, and everything's running smoothly now. Cost me 515€, but it's worth it to have the car running properly again.

Rough starts, increased fuel consumption, power loss, and stalling definitely point towards a fuel delivery issue. A dirty injector is a strong possibility, like a clogged artery in your car’s fuel system. Is there any misfire? Has the check engine light illuminated? A diagnostic scan would confirm the misfire and potentially pinpoint which cylinder is affected.
