Mercedes A Klasse Stalling at Idle

My 2023 Mercedes A Klasse with a gasoline engine is throwing a fit. The check engine light is on, and it keeps stalling at idle. The error code says something about incorrect fuel composition. It's done 255210 km. Could it be bad fuel additives or even wrong fuel? I am really hoping I didn't put the wrong fuel in it! Anyone seen this before? Engine knock is a worry for me.

I understand your concern. I drive an A Klasse as well, and I had similar symptoms. The fuel system can be quite sensitive. Are you experiencing any rough idling or unusual noises when accelerating? It could be a defective cable or plug connection.

Rough idling, yes! And now that you mention it, acceleration isn't as smooth as it used to be. Where exactly should I be looking for this 'defective cable or plug connection'? Is it something I can check myself without making things worse?

While I am not a mechanic, I would suggest proceeding with caution. From my experience, the issue stems from a defective cable or plug connection. I would strongly suggest you take it to a workshop. This could prevent further damage to the fuel system. I would not want you to invalidate your warranty.

Okay, thanks. You're right, better safe than sorry. I took it to the shop, and you nailed it. Turns out a connection in the fuel system was loose. 95€ later, and it's running perfectly again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
