Mercedes A Klasse Stalling at Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Mercedes A Klasse is experiencing stalling at idle with a check engine light indicating incorrect fuel composition. Possible causes include bad fuel additives, wrong fuel, or a defective cable or plug connection in the fuel system. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle inspected by a professional to prevent further damage, which led to the discovery of a loose connection in the fuel system, resolving the issue.

Rough idling, yes! And now that you mention it, acceleration isn't as smooth as it used to be. Where exactly should I be looking for this 'defective cable or plug connection'? Is it something I can check myself without making things worse?

While I am not a mechanic, I would suggest proceeding with caution. From my experience, the issue stems from a defective cable or plug connection. I would strongly suggest you take it to a workshop. This could prevent further damage to the fuel system. I would not want you to invalidate your warranty.

Okay, thanks. You're right, better safe than sorry. I took it to the shop, and you nailed it. Turns out a connection in the fuel system was loose. 95€ later, and it's running perfectly again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I understand your concern. I drive an A Klasse as well, and I had similar symptoms. The fuel system can be quite sensitive. Are you experiencing any rough idling or unusual noises when accelerating? It could be a defective cable or plug connection.
