Mercedes B Klasse Audio System Failure

My Mercedes B Klasse 2009 gasoline with 91517 km has radio silence. The audio system is not working with no audio output. Could it be a defective bass speaker or is there something else I should check? Auxiliary input and USB audio don't work either.

I have a B Klasse too and had a similar problem. Check the car speakers first. Sometimes a blown speaker can kill the whole system. Does anything show up on the screen, or is it complete radio silence? Any audio connectivity through Bluetooth?

Complete radio silence. Nothing on the screen, and no Bluetooth either. How would I check the speakers? Is it a difficult job?

If nothing shows up on the screen, it is unlikely to be a speaker issue. It could be a fuse or a head unit problem. But since you mentioned the bass speaker, it is worth checking. Testing the speakers requires some disassembly and a multimeter. If you're not comfortable doing that, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to diagnose the problem.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop. They found a defective bass speaker. Repair cost was 280€.
