Mercedes B Klasse electric air suspension problem

My 2016 Mercedes B Klasse electric is giving me headaches. The air suspension seems to have failed at 265322 km. The car won't lift, sits unevenly, and throws error messages about the suspension system. The headlights are all over the place because of the ride height. I've scanned the error memory and it points towards the air suspension compressor. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection is the culprit. Has anyone experienced similar air leaks or issues with their air struts?

Interesting issue. Did you perhaps check the voltage at the compressor? I had a similar problem with my Audi A6. The air suspension would fail intermittently. It turned out to be a corroded wire leading to the compressor. The error was also pointing towards the compressor itself, but the actual problem was a simple electrical fault in the suspension system.

So, just to be clear, the error message also pointed towards the compressor itself in your case? Was it a permanent failure, or only sometimes?

Affirmative, the error indicated a compressor fault, and the failure was intermittent at first, eventually becoming permanent. It might be worth investigating before replacing the compressor. In my case, the repair shop was able to repair the cable for a reasonable price.

Thanks for the insight. I checked the cable connections and found a loose connector. Cleaned it up, reconnected it, and the suspension is working again. Error is gone. Cost me just 95€ for the cleaning agent. Much appreciated!
