Mercedes B Klasse fault code issue

My Mercedes B Klasse, build year 2014, gasoline engine, mileage 101832 km, has a fault code triggering an error message in the infotainment system and speedometer. An OBD-II scanner indicates a potential coding issue. Could incorrect coding be the cause?

I had a similar issue with my B Klasse, though I can't recall the exact fault code. The malfunction indicator was constantly on, and it was driving me crazy. I also suspected some control module misconfiguration. I tried to reset codes myself, but the error kept reappearing. Did you try that already?

Yes, I attempted to reset the codes using the diagnostic scanner, but the error persists. When you experienced this, did the error messages specify the affected control module, or was it a more generic indication of a coding problem?

The error was pretty vague if I remember correctly. I ended up taking it to a workshop since I was running out of ideas. Turns out the coding was indeed messed up. They had to reprogram something, and that fixed it. Cost me a bit, but it resolved the issue. It's probably best to take it to someone with the right equipment to properly diagnose and fix it.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Based on your input, I will schedule an appointment with a workshop to address the suspected incorrect coding. The estimated repair cost is approximately 360€. I appreciate your assistance.
