Mercedes B Klasse Hybrid Idle Issue Resolved
Summary of the thread
The 2020 Mercedes B Klasse hybrid experienced an idle issue, with the check engine light indicating a problem with the idle control. A potential cause was identified as a faulty idle air control valve, possibly due to contamination. A similar case suggested checking the air intake for contamination, which was confirmed upon inspection. Professional cleaning of the air intake and idle control system resolved the stalling issue.

When you say heavily contaminated, what do you mean? Just dirty, or something worse? How did you diagnose it? Was it a visual inspection, or did you use a scanner?

Contaminated means gunked up with oily residue and dirt. It was obvious when I took it apart. I only did a visual check. Cleaning it didn't solve the problem, so I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the idle control system and cleaned it properly. Maybe get it checked out by a professional to save yourself the trouble.

I took it to a workshop, and you were right. The air intake was heavily contaminated, affecting the idle control valve. They cleaned everything, and the engine stalling is gone! It cost 425€, but it's fixed.

I had a similar issue with my B Klasse Stalling engine, check engine light, the works. Have you checked your air intake? Mine was heavily contaminated, leading to engine idle problems. It's worth a look before replacing parts.
