Mercedes B Klasse TPMS error
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Mercedes B Klasse is experiencing a tire pressure malfunction error, with the tire pressure appearing low and confirmed by an error code. The issue could be due to a faulty sensor or a dead sensor battery. It is suggested to verify the tire pressure manually and consider visiting a workshop for a proper diagnosis, as special tools are needed to determine the exact cause.

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked the tire pressure manually, and it matches the sensor's incorrect reading. So, the sensors are transmitting, but wrong. How can I tell if it's a bad sensor or just a dead battery?

It's hard to know if it's a dead battery or a faulty sensor without special tools. In my experience, when the TPMS acts up, especially on older cars, a workshop visit is best. They can check each sensor and find the problem. Diagnosing it yourself could waste time and money on parts. It was cheaper for me to get it fixed at once instead of guessing.

I appreciate the advice. The need for special equipment makes sense. I'll take it to a workshop for diagnosis. I'll make sure they check the air pressure and air valve as part of the repair. Thanks again.

That TPMS issue can be a pain. I had a similar problem with my B Klasse. Are all the sensors transmitting? It might not be the battery, but a faulty sensor. Double-check the tire pressure with a manual gauge to be sure. Your car's tire pressure monitoring system is like a smoke detector, it alerts you when something is wrong, but sometimes the alarm is faulty and goes off even when there is no smoke.
