Thank you for your response I have not yet checked for a refrigerant leak or the belt tensioner How would I determine if the A/C compressor is engaging, and what would be the symptoms of a faulty belt tensioner in this context

Okay, so with the compressor, you should hear a click when it engages, and you might see the engine RPMs dip slightly If nothing is happening, it's not engaging As for the belt tensioner, if it's failing, the belt might be loose or making noise Honestly, it sounds like you should probably take it to a workshop Could be a few things and I am just guessing Hopefully it is not too expensive

I appreciate the advice I took it to a workshop, and it turned out to be an undervoltage issue, as suspected The repair cost was 240€ Thank you for your help

I might be able to help you I have a similar Mercedes C Klasse I've had something like this happen before with my A/C system Does the A/C compressor seem to be engaging at all Have you checked for obvious things like a refrigerant leak or maybe even the belt tensioner It could be a simple fix, but undervoltage is also possible I guess
