The compressor does seem to be running more than usual. How can I tell if the struts or the compressor are the problem?

If the compressor is running overtime, it's likely struggling to compensate for an air leak. The struts are a common culprit, but honestly, without proper testing gear, it's tough to pinpoint. I'd suggest a workshop visit. They can pressure test the system.

I followed your advice and visited a workshop for a pressure test. A defective cable was located and replaced, as suspected. The system is now working.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue on my C Klasse but didn't check the error codes. Is the compressor running constantly? Could be a bad relay, or worse, the compressor itself. Check the air struts too, any hissing?
