Mercedes C Klasse Audio System Failure

My 2022 Mercedes C Klasse diesel with 110229 km on the clock has a strange audio issue. The audio system is completely dead, no sound whatsoever. The error memory has an audio system error stored. Could this be a defective head unit? I'm looking at a potential repair cost of 725€.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my C Klasse. Have you noticed any other symptoms, like the Bluetooth suddenly cutting out or the car speakers producing static noise even when the volume is muted? Is the volume control responsive at all?

Bluetooth seems okay, but there's definitely no output from the car speakers. Volume control does nothing. Was your issue also a completely dead system? Was a display defective the cause?

Yes, the whole system was dead. I suspected it was a Bluetooth problem initially. It turned out to be a defective display unit. I would recommend a workshop visit to confirm the diagnosis, but it does sound very similar.
