Mercedes C Klasse climate control problems

My 2017 Mercedes C Klasse diesel has climate control issues. The automatic temperature control isn't working, error memory shows a fault with the interior temperature sensor, and the air conditioning won't switch on. Can a defective temperature sensor cause these problems? I've heard a faulty cable or plug connection could also be the cause. Has anyone experienced this?

I had something similar in my C Klasse. The temperature reading was off, and the temperature control was erratic. The air conditioning was also acting strangely. It could be the sensor. Did you check the sensor diagnostics, specifically the wiring?

When you say similar, do you mean the exact same symptoms? And did the sensor diagnostics point to the sensor, or was it something else?

Yes, pretty much the same symptoms. I suspected the temperature sensor, but I couldn't be sure. I took it to a workshop, and it was the temperature sensor. I would get it checked.

Thanks, that's helpful. I had a sensor diagnostics run at a workshop, they confirmed the faulty temperature sensor. They replaced the sensor and fixed a loose plug connection. The total cost was 95€. Everything seems to be working now.
