Mercedes C Klasse Diesel Ignition Error

My 2002 Mercedes C Klasse diesel is playing up something shocking! 219186 km on the clock and now this Terminal 15 ignition positive interrupted error is showing. The engine just refuses to start. I've checked the error memory and that's what it says. According to my diagnostics, it's likely a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone dealt with this before? My initial check of the battery terminal and starter solenoid seems okay, but tracing the entire wiring harness is a nightmare. A mechanic quoted me around 95€ for the fix. Thoughts?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my C Klasse – car won't start and all. Check the wiring harness near the firewall. Had a circuit break there once that gave me all sorts of grief. Did you check the fuses too?

The firewall wiring harness, you say? That's a thought. Was it visibly damaged, or did you need to test it with a multimeter? Any specific area I should focus on? And yeah, fuses are all good, triple-checked those already!

Okay, so fuses are ruled out. Nah, couldn't see anything obvious, just a hairline break. Multimeter was the only way I found it. Honestly, unless you are super confident with electrics, I'd just get a workshop to check it out. Time is money!

Appreciate the insight! Bit the bullet and took it to the shop. Turns out it WAS a broken wire in the harness, just like you said. They repaired the connection, cleared the error, and she's purring like a kitten again. 95€ as quoted. Thanks!
