Mercedes C Klasse hybrid engine issue

I am having a problem with my 2017 Mercedes C Klasse hybrid. The check engine light is on, and I've noticed a reduction in engine power. Also, I'm seeing some smoke when accelerating. I suspect the crankcase ventilation valve is defective, due to a leak. The car has 55640 km. Any thoughts on a crankcase ventilation malfunction causing these symptoms? I've also noticed a slightly rough idle.

Those symptoms do sound familiar. I had a somewhat similar issue with my C Klasse. Did you check for any unusual noises or hissing sounds coming from the engine?

Hissing? No, I haven't noticed any unusual noises beyond the rough idle. Where exactly would I listen for this hissing? Is this maintenance related?

The hissing would be near the crankcase ventilation valve itself. However, given your symptoms and the mileage, it is probably best to have a workshop take a look. It could be a simple fix, but a defective crankcase ventilation can cause long-term damage if left unaddressed.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop. Turns out the crankcase ventilation valve was indeed the culprit. Repair cost was 360€. Running smooth now.
